I am not a lover of fish, I like tuna and tolerate Talapia and Trout if it is prepared correctly. I don't like salmon at all in any form. My sister and BIL live in OR and he used to be a commercial fisherman. He would give us smoked salmon all of the time, fortunately my DH likes it. My sister cans her own tuna and that is OMG to die for. At first I thought that it would be strong tasting and "fishy" but it is really the opposite. It makes the store bought stuff just stink. I have come to realize that good fish should not taste or smell like a dead fish.

I do like most all shellfish except oysters. I don't like calamari or stuffed squid.

I think it's because when I was young my grandma used to make salmon cakes with the nasty canned stuff.
Gross.

I love most other types of fish and shellfish. Love oysters.
Love some sashimi grade tuna, panned seared, medium rare. :drool

As far as bear, they look to much like dogs in the face for me to eat one.

When you see the bear carcass all skinned out it looks almost human... seriously. Bear meat can be stringy and gamey and mostly is like pork. Late is the season it can be pretty greasy. They do make rather nice rugs though.

OK what I would like to know... was there a smell when you cooked it; a smell, not pleasant akin to stink? The ONLY experience I have with lamb is someone else cooking it and the odor was horrible.

Could be store bought lamb, or maybe it was from an older animal... but oh my word!

I've been told lamb is good, tasty, yummy and all the other appropriate words, but...but...but...

OK so my question is, do lamb and goat taste similar? I see that a lot of recipes are for either. I've never eaten either one... Yet! Just curious...
