I agree with Pearce on this but I to am not saying it is never the buck. But nearly all the time it is the doe that determines the number of kids, not the buck. If the buck doesn't have enough "swimmers" or has poor fertility then he may not be able to fertilize all the eggs in the doe. That is true but overall it is the doe that determines the amount of kids. In other words the buck may have something to do with the number of kids but that is only if he has some kind of an issue at that time.
