2 NGD babies coming-1st timer-hotwires fence Q with kids?

Were 1st timers :) coming into the goat world and havent needed hotwire for our chickens :p but with the Nigerian's...do you HAVE to have hotwires? we dont have too many predators where were at--FL...in between orlando and tampa but i do worry about the 2 and 4 yr old :D Thanks so much for any advice!

I'll let the others answer about whether or not you need the hotwires, but I we have boers and hotwires and kids!!!

So far my husband, myself, and my step-daughter (15 years old) have all been "bit" by the fence!!! (usually latching/unlatching gates)

My four and a half year old - NOPE!!! Going on almost a year now. :weee

We don't use hot wires...but sometimes, as I'm fixing fences that have been popped off the T posts by rubbing goats...I wish we did have a wire right at mid-barrel to stop the rubbing.

And then :p I remember how good I am at running into the hot wire over at the horse fence...:smack

lol--thks...i think we'll try no and then go from there...i want to say "its only 2 whethers" how much trouble can they really be? but i KNOW how that can come back and sting me in the you know what :lol:
