2023, Waiting on Lambs!

I used hog panels to set up my sheep working equipment. They work well and aren’t as expensive.

Had a lamb flopping around yesterday afternoon, of course, it was a sold one and not one of the dozens of unclaimed rams...
VitE&B + antibiotic given, 103.5 temp. Today, he's no longer tumbling, but keeping watch over him.

Ordered more samplers for codon testing. Have 2 more lambs to test.

Looks like this year's Patchie ewe is RR, so, last year's can now sell, as she is QR. But I'll wait until autumn to list.

This guy is such a troublemaker!
Stuck in the fence all of the time. Now got himself stuck in a jug...
I'll have to block the bottom foot all around the yard or kill/cover the ground behind the fence if I'll keep raising lambs in here!



Need to add two tposts to the curved back panel.

Finally getting rain!!

Also, opened arena to let the thin get some grass.
Next the waiting ewes will go in.
Going to try to move just the moms to mow front yard & later sideyard.

The waiting ewes crawled under, so they lost all grass privileges.

The thinner ones were let in instead.

Then the other moms n lambs were shooed out to a sideyard.

Now moved onto the next yard.

Tossed Bayley out, she dances when they try to nurse. Only one was willing to deal with that crap. Other sold as bottle baby, but not til later. So, raising them together.

The pigs broke out over night.
They're sulking in the barnyard and pretending hay isn't food.



Lambs aren't being stupid, eating creep & hay.
