2024-2025 Sheep Showing

We are checked in at San Angelo and sheep have been washed. Photographer for newspaper took a ton of pictures.

Tomorrow is going to be long… The Junior show starts at 8am with 61 classes. Cassandra competes:
59- Other Reg Ewe lambs
61- Other Reg Ewes 4-6 tooth

Open show starts at 1pm or whenever the Junior finishes. It has 48 classes. Cassandra is in last with Oreo.

Junior Show:
Lambs (13 entries) did not place
Aged ewe (6 entries) 6th
Several compliments about beautiful sheep. More importantly a comment on how much her showmanship has improved since Chisholm Trail from guy in Dorper Association.

Cassandra got last in the Open Aged Ewe class. She took it fairly good. I reminded her then next show will have her competing just against other hair sheep.

Hard to compete against other breeds... especially the Dorpers since they are known as the "MEAT BREED"....They have a different look and a different type...
Proud of her to have improved her showing ability enough for the judge to have also noticed. That is quite an accomplishment . Good for her.

@farmerjan Dorpers were a different day but she was against a mix of wool breeds at this show in Other Registered Breeds category. Houston has a Other Registered HAIR breeds category.
