Excellent pictures. Add an explanatory captions for each picture. That is a great picture story. Love it. With the addition of the financial pages it should be perfect.
Great on the photos. I am going to make my remarks like I would if judging Record Books or doing a class for kids (and parents) on how to put them together so please don't think I am being too harsh. I want Cassandra to win!
Excellent captions. The colored page are fun but that hot pink color makes the captions hard to read. Tone down the color or just use white. If you can use a larger font size it would also help the captions. The judges will be given a limited amount of time to look over her Record Book submission. You want them to focus on the pictures, captions, and experiences they show. Since the judges will only be looking at her Oreo and Socks record, in annual percentage on their food, minerals, pellets, for Oreo's share. You have grazing which should be noted in the feed chart to offset the lower cost of hay and pellets.
I am so excited for Cassandra to be doing her first Record Book. They are a wonderful way for kids to learn to keep business records, assemble and write out their experiences, etc. DD1 refused to do a project story on her first full book even though her leader told her she should. Then she found out that she would have won a gold medal for the book if she had put one in. That was the last time she did not put in everything she was supposed to. LOL My children went from whining "It's too much work" to wanting to compete and win medals with them as they got older. They won County medals for their Record Books that they wore on their hats. I don't know if Texas 4-H does this, but those hats, loaded with their experience stripes and medals are prized keepsakes today for each of them. They helped my boys with Aphasia learn to express themselves in writing. Eventually, they would tell their friends that they would be unavailable to even talk on the phone for the week before Record Books were due because they were writing their stories, assembling financial paperwork, choosing photos and making captions, then putting it all together and taking it around for their Project Leaders' signatures on the Project reports.
Those Record Books will be prized possessions of your family since they will show all the growth of your kids up to graduation. The rule in our house was in case of evacuation or fire to save the Record Books. LOL They contained a picture and written record of our kids throughout their childhood.
And written in their own words. Priceless.
