Has she pooped at all? Did she pass the meconium? Usually when they're constipated they'll go off feed, but if you're absolutely sure she hasn't pooped it wouldn't hurt to give her an enima.

If she is eating well and active I wouldn't worry about about. She will stop acting so hungry if she is constipated. Then add some corn syrup to a small bottle of milk or give her an enema or both.

Really? Mine always poop an hour or two after being born (meconium). Then they poo the baby goat mustard poop and it gets on everything.

when I had 2 bottle babies in the house this past fall, it was days before I noticed pooh, and when I did... it was tiny little mustard pelets.... looked like cracker crumbs LOL

... maybe is because mine are mini fainters??

the vet this week called them micro goats :)

she went yesterday right after I posted this (of course) it was quite a bit and yellow not crumbly but stuck together you could tell it was pellets. But that was 30 hours ago and she hasnt gone again, but she is running, playing and chasing the dog. So I am assuming she is okay. Thanks for the corn syrup remedy I gave my daughter cows milk with syrup at 3 months because she couldnt drink formula but that was 32 years ago and I had forgotten. I will try that before the enema if I need too. Thank you everyone for your replies this is the greatest!!! But I must go someone is standing at my feet yelling for me to feed her!!!

I think your little one is doing what is normal for her system. I noticed my new-born goats didnt poop too often and I was worried too. Then after about 36 hours, they finally went, and it was sticky yellow stuff (they are bottle babies) not quite pellets, but not runny, like lumpy yellow tootsie rolls.

Now they are about 2 weeks old and they still dont poo that much, not even after every feeding, maybe a few times a day, maybe just twice a day when I notice it. They could be going more and just stepping in it and mushing it into their bedding, so I dont see it.

I think your kid is ok, and not something to worry about- its when they dont eat and dont play or their tummy gets all big and hard for a long time (not right after feeding) that you need to worry. Sounds like your baby is right on track!

Its funny because I thought they would be like human babies and poo all the time, but that sure hasnt been the case around here! I was following your post to see what answers came up since I was wondering too, if my kids poo habits were normal or not.

Jeez, I am way too into poo.......... :sick

LOL...I always laugh looking back...I had the same worries last year, UNTIL I realized my DOG was "cleaning up" the poo for me! We brought home a few tiny bottle kids, had them in the house, and would let them out with Ming (who mothers everything VERY well)....I wasn't finding poos....because MING WAS CLEANING THEM for me! She still does this...it's SO SO GROSS! IF you come to my house DO NOT kiss the dog!

When I read "she is chasing the dog"...that was my FIRST thought...maybe your dog is handling the clean up for you and thus no poo to be found ;) Watch close, it took me a week to figure it out last year....and then Ming was cut off from kisses FOREVER!

I am so glad I read this thread. I got 2 boer babies yesterday refused by their momma and one of them has pooped his meconium but has NOT pooped any milk poop despite a voracious appetite. The meconium was very pebble like and I gave him a small enema this afternoon and he passed more meconium so he must have still been working on that. The other one poops a small amount of sticky mustard poop every few hours. So maybe they just have different habits. I was starting to get very worried about not seeing any "real" poop.
