We have two five day old kids that were just let out into their new run (with mama). We have just put in the fence posts with new fencing, so there is loose dirt all around. Mama is munching away on grass and weeds, and we noticed her kids are not only trying to copy her, but seem to be ingesting dirt and small rocks.
Is this normal??? We are new to raising kids from birth, and I do know about the FKS relation to dirt-eating, but both kids are very active, running, jumping, playing, and nursing. They have had a selenium shot, and mama has a mineral-enhanced grain every day. Is it possible they are still missing something?
Any insight is appreciated!
