I brought home a new kitten!

Nine years ago, DH and I were in Petsmart and I spotted a tuxedo kitten. I literally squealed and ran across the store to her. I've always wanted a tux cat! It was past their adoption time, so we woke up before store opening the next morning and brought her home. Kamehameha, a medium haired tuxedo girl.

Last year, we lost our 13yr old mutt dog, our 13yr old cat and our barncat. Last couple of months, we've been spying kitties. Even decided to accept craigslist cats, but still nothing.

Today, I alone, was at Petsmart to see if they had anything. There were two "7mo" kittens! I noticed the medium haired fluffball first. There was another that was super cute, but slept the whole time. A bit too lazy. I sent pics to DH, he didn't refuse, so I left to get groceries and then came back.

She was still there! Bought a new carrier, as the one I had was now missing a door and we'll over 20 years old...And I had to pull cash for the adoption.

Kamehameha is quite upset, but she'll get over it with time.

Decided to call her Masenko.

🫠 Slept until 10, she kept waking me up. Then started trying to escape from windows and singing. Similar to a cat in heat noise, but no where near as intense, plus she's already spayed on the 26th. Left over hormones?? Hope she stops soon....😵
So far, not much of a cat, as in, likes being up high. She slept under the bed, seems to want nothing to do with being off the floor.
So tired....zzz
She's under the bed now. At least they're not fighting.

It could easily take a couple of months for the hormones to be gone.
There is a possibility of ORS. I'm pretty sure my little Marilyn has this. She was spayed a year ago & still shows some signs of heat. Not NEARLY as intense! But still there. Unfortunately it's just enough to get my boy cats all excited. When she sashays across the room doing a few little purr-meows they forget they are neutered.. 🙄

Ovarian remnant syndrome (ORS) is a condition that occurs in female cats that have been spayed but still exhibit signs of estrus (heat cycle). This happens when ovarian tissue is left in the body after the procedure.
