Does that pattern have a name? It isn't quite like most of the tabbies I see.

Most of the tabbies you see are mackerel tabby, like this one.

And this pattern is actually classic tabby. I have several but this is my long haired one.

This better illustrates the differences. My personal favorite is definitely classic

I kinda feel like they're named backwards, like Greenland and Iceland because the quintessential tabby has always been the mackerel

Oh, you're right. Most I see as tabby are actually mackerel!

Cat living upstairs 100% of the time. Kitten downstairs, she's respecting the stairs as the boundary, for now.
