A question for spinners

I had a lionhead bun-bun and he shed like MAD every 3 or 4 months. I thought about trying to spin his fiber, the only problem was the only fiber that was long enough to spin was from his mane (about 4")...but everything else would shed too! He was a sweetheart and LOVED me 'plucking' him! His fiber was pretty interesting too...kind of crimped...but soft.
