We've made it nearly a week! So I had to take new pics! She looks alittle thin to me, how do I know if she's getting enough? Or to much?

Any raising tips? She's not my first bottle baby, but it's been a long time and I just want to be sure I'm doing everything right.

I think she just needs some good old Washington rain!
So, I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told Mr. never posts pictures! You should load her up and send her to ME!

Ok the truth, I think she looks real good!
Kitty raises more calves than I do, so if there is anything else you should do, she will tell you!

What do you call that other calf in the 3rd picture?

She looks good to me, but it wouldn't hurt for her to put on a bit more weight. But that's normal for a one-week-old.

Are you giving her two or three bottles? That made a difference with my bottle babies.

She's adorable :)

The calf in the third pic is a miniature holstein steer!

She gets 3 bottles a day, the pics were taken just after she ate, when I milked the goats a few hours later she already had that sunken look. I may just be a worry wart.

First thing I'm going to tell you is at a week old you can put her on a pail and I recommend that you do. It's easier to adjust what your feeding her and it's easier on you. You can still rub her down, scratch her head, etc. for the bonding.

As for how much to feed her. Watch her sides. When her stomach is even with her ribs she has had enough.

That minature holstein steer looks to be blue and white! Or maybe I should say white and blue. :D

Many people feed 3x a day. And you need to watch for scours even if feeding 2x a day.

Thank you, I think I was just being a worry wart, she doesn't act like she's starving so much now, and she does look abit sunken from the top when I go to feed, but she fills out pretty good after a bottle.

I am watching for scours, and so far we're good! She's also already drinking water pretty good on her own!
