Boy I hope I don't get that goat fever. I'm thinking of getting one but still in the future. I'm still learning about cows.

Nice.. Looks to me like #453 is a pretty classic Boer/Nubian cross. I've seen a few Boers with that dot on their topline, but there are A LOT of blonde-headed Boer/Nubian crosses out there with it.. Something about the cross seems to want to bring that dot out.

We saw a lot of those at the state fair last year, as a matter of fact.. We noticed it because we own one like that ourselves, and she's one heck of a nice goat.. From what I've seen, the ones with the dot tend to be really good looking goats.

Maybe that should be a breed? Call'em Blonde Spotted Nuboers or something.. :gig

Anyway, nice looking goats. :thumbsup

cool thats what i had decided too that she was a boer/nubian. her ears really flip out. i actually picked her out first just because i liked her and she seemed gentle (turns out she is basically a dog..) and i picked up the other more boer looking one for her to have a companion. her ears flip out a little bit too but i think shes at least 75% boer ... i saw what i believe to be her mom in the pen with her and she looked like a boer too.

Judging by the horn growth, I'd say 5-7mo.. Somewhere in that range.

Then again, I've got a little doeling who's about 6mo now and her horns are only about 2" long... If I didn't own her, I'd probably guess her at about 3mo.

:idunno

The books will tell you to breed by weight, and that it's OK to breed them when they're 70+lbs.. Personally, I think that's a little light.. We've got some approaching 90-100lbs now and I'm just now getting to where I can imagine them being bred.

Probably were bottle babies. ?? Ours are the same way, they follow. It's soooo cute. But can be annoying when there's a job to get done, like cleaning/watering/feeding. :) They are like cutting horses, I walk down the hill, and they run along side, then jut out in front of me and stop. Ugh!! :)
