My pygora Zooey is the herd queen. I get them into the goat barn at night with grain ( the pen is not yet predator proof). Anyway, she gets so excited she starts jumping in the gate and puts so much pressure on it I can hardly open it! Then she's jumping all over me and stepping on my feet. Argument. I love her but sheeeesh She's. Challenging! I've tried hanging an empty grain bucket on one side to distract her but she's too quick. If I out grain in it she goggles it up then sees no need to go into the barn since she got what she wanted. Then the other goats ( Nigerians and a lamancha) start to question why they should go in if zooeys not! Its like I have five, five year Olds LOL.

Anyway advice??

One of my girls does this too. But, she now knows I'm not coming in until she gets down and moves back from the gate. I firmly say "OFF"! I had to be more stubborn than her at first - it took patience. But I won't fight her to come in. Now she knows she doesn't get her grain when I first walk in. I make them run the area of their paddock first. I run with them. They know we do a few laps before they get their food, so they don't even try to get it now. Once their in milk again they'll eat on the milk stand, but while their dry I hand feed them (hold their feeders). So maybe if they learn a "routine" that they have to go through before they are allowed to get their food might help.
