So, in a pinch I had to get a bag of alfalfa hay made for rabbits. The protein percentage is 13. Is that ok for my goats? I have a buck, pregnant doe and a weanling. All are Nigerian Dwarfs.

Alfalfa is great for your goats. Just curious... how does one get a "bag" of hay "made"? I've heard of a bag of alfalfa pellets or cubes, but never hay... I thought hay came in bales? :hu

@Latestarter, it is for rabbits so probably they just grab some off a bale and stuff it in a bag. I see small bags at pet stores but can't imagine buying enough to feed my army of goats.

13% protein is a little low for alfalfa unless they have a different way to measure. It is listed as Crude Protein? Alfalfa is usually about 16%. But in a pinch it will do just fine.

Thanks!! Yeah, I plan to get the regular alfalfa, but this was all I could grab today. Yeah...if I had more goats than I do, I wouldn't have gotten it either. lol
