I usually hang out at the backyard chicken forum, but have been lurking here.

ANYWAY, I have one male & one female purebred Anatolian Sheperd pups ready to bond to your livestock. They are 9 weeks old, have been wormed 4 times, and live in the sheep barn right now. We also have free-range poultry.

This is the age for them to bond to sheep, goats, cattle, poultry, etc. They are not registered, but are purebred. $250 ea.

Sorry, I spaced that. We are in NW Indiana. (think Purdue)

The male pup left for OH on Friday, and a lady from IL may be coming today for the girl.

Those pups flew out of here!

Arrrrgh....Darn it, I missed this.

Please contact me if you plan a litter of pups next year. I'd like another.

Roll Farms,

I was worried about finding good livestock homes for 10 puppies, but as people find out about Anatolians, I may not have that problem, lol. I found good homes for all the pups.

No more tripping hazards at the farm tonight. All puppies are gone to new homes.

Do you have an Anatolian now?

We had a male Anatolian that we bought specifically to breed to our pyr female. We sold him to a sheep farm in TN once she was bred...then our older male pyr died unexpectedly last winter, so now I'm down to 2 LGD...I'm really more comfortable having 3.
We kept one pup, Gus, who looks more Anatolian than Pyr, which was my plan...b/c I hate Pyr coats.
Edge had 13 pups, one died at birth, and the other 11 flew out of here...all to working homes.

Please do keep me in mind if you have more pups next year.

Thanks.

Roll farms,
Well, I'm trying to decide if we want to breed again. Two of the pups went to Amish homes, so I know they will be breeders.

Yes, I've had Pyrs in the past..awesome mentality, but night barkers; and that COAT!

I know of two people now who would be interested in a puppy. (you and one other)

Did the grown male you bought and sold sold bond to your livestock? Or is that the reason you sold him?

We bought him as a 6 mo. old pup....he was ok w/ our animals, a little rougher w/ our ancient old ewe than I liked....but I only bought him to get Edge preggo b/c I wanted, just one time, to have / raise a litter of LGD pups...so many of our goat customers saw ours and wanted one....and that was the cross I wanted to make.

I didn't want to have 4 LGD, the plan was to sell him the minute he 'did the deed'...so we did....BUT...I didn't know we'd lose Razor (older pyr) so soon, either.

IF he'd have gotten along w/ Razor, we might have kept him, but you probably already know that 2 males, or 2 females, often don't get along, even if one or both are fixed....he beat the tar out of the old guy a time or two so that pretty much sealed his fate.

We have a seperate buck pen I want to put the 3rd LGD in...I figure the boys are 'safest' from predators, but another dog would make me feel better.
