I will be getting 3 wethers in mid July after they are weaned. Yea! Looking forward to raising them for their lustrous fiber.

Anyone else with Angoras?

I have a doe that is 1/4 Angora. She was fuzzy when she was small, but now that she is a year old, her hair is fluffy and soft. She is due to have her first baby(ies) in 10 days. She is a gorgeous color and my sweet girl.

I just put money down on 4 Angoras, 3 wethers and a doe. Just checked them out today, very glossy, fine mohair on them, all white although one looks a little yellowish. All have good teeth and are friendly. One of the wethers has an issue with his feet, but it's nothing some trimming won't fix. Bringing them home next Sunday. Yea!

I have a Pygora doe, never have done anything with her coat but brush and clip in the summer. Do you shear it off to use it for spinning, or brush? I have a spinning wheel and may try it this winter. Do you only take the fibre once a year? She is pretty raggedy come spring time, but I suppose it would wash and brush out smoothly.

I sure do like that Arabian avatar Michickenwrangler.

And Mamaboid that little doe looks so soft and cuddly.

Here's my herd. 3 wethers and a doe. I'll be getting a few kids in July from a breeder downstate. One of the kids is black (yea! Colored wool)

Thanks, Symphony. I know I have the full pic of my mare somewhere in the horse threads
