Loving the herd life
Howdy from Tyler Texas!
Rain would be fantastic. We got to 103 here, thankfully we didn't lose any critters.frustratedearthmother said:Hey Ya'll,
Looks like we made it through the. hottest. day. EVER... Those temps on Saturday were crazy ridiculous. We hit 108 at our house with heat index around 120ish. I spent most of the day outside keeping cool water in all the critters buckets and misting the critters (and myself!). Still lost one pullet... geeze. Thank goodness it's back to more reasonable temps this week. I even hope it rains on the holiday weekend - we NEEED it!

I hear that. I had angora goat, which wasn't the brightest idea for my area, but I had colored and whites. Every summer the whites would still be grazing during the day while the black, red etc would all be tucked away in the shadows panting. So I slowly learned that the lighter color does better here.frustratedearthmother said:All great reasons! I sure worry about my dark critters in this heat...
