WOW! @greybeard what a timely post! I am excited about this grass! I like not only the fire ant repelling aspect, but love the drought resistance and high density, low fertilizer aspects. There is not a lot of open ground on our little 8 acres, so I have to make the most of what I have. The soil here is SAND, and one of the articles said Dahl is hard to establish on sand.

Can you tell me more about this grass? Or maybe start a new thread and tag me so I don't miss it? Would love to hear of your experiences with grazing on this grass.

What is the grazing season? Do you have a mixed or pure stand? How long after seeding before grazing? How tall is it and what is recovery time after grazing?

I know a person that uses Talstar. He carefully locates the ant nests, pours a diluted mixture of Talstar into the holes, then seals the holes with clay. Not saying this is the right thing to do, but he has never seen ants ever return to that area of his property even years later....and his livestock are still healthy as can be.

I know another person that uses Termidor with the same exact results.

Oh, this gentleman consistently and repeatedly flips the bird [middle finger] to the environmentalist extremists wackos and the "Green" party and the "Save the Earth" wackos.

Again, I am not suggesting any of these pesticides, just saying it worked wonders for the people that have used them...

Yes I planted it, but about 2/3 of my property as covered in 1-5' of flood water (several times) and WWB-Dahl does not like being submerged. I have not replanted any. The seed is just too expensive to risk it again.
