Does anyone know if an old cream separator will spin out the cream from goats milk? I currently only have one ND doe that is providing milk and I wanted an easier, quicker way to separate the cream so I can use the both products faster.

I picked up a da level junior cream separator for a great price ($75) All the parts are there, (even the special wrench) Once we get it cleaned up I'm sure it will work perfectly!

(I think they have it mounted on the base wrong .. you can't spin the handle...lol... easy fix)! Since there is no paint left on it, we're going to get the raw metal sandblasted and painted to preserve it and make it easier to clean. I'm super excited to have it even if it doesn't work for goat milk. We have toyed with beef/dairy cows due to beef prices... wow! And since I love antiques anyway.. it's a win win for me. We're also currently restoring an old singer treadle sewing machine! ($50).. seriously... can't pass up these buys!!

@bonbean01 will probably know. I believe she used cream separators on their cows growing up.

I would try to pm her, I noticed she has not been on in awhile. She may get a message though.

Well, everything was there! We tried to salvage the paint, however it was a lost cause. Since we want to use it for food, we stripped, cleaned and repainted and re-stained the board. It takes quite a work out to get her going! Can't wait to try it out on some goat milk~

That looks great. I'm sure it will work. They do not make separate ones for goats. I have one from the Ukraine. I still have not tried it. I think it works better if the milk is heated to 100 degrees.
