I have a 7 month old blue eyed white holland lop doe and I noticed she started pulling out her fur as well as holding her tail up most of the time, especially when shes in her cage. Any Ideas?
Thanks
Alicia

Sounds like she is wanting to be bred. I've read that behavior is not uncommon in does that reach maturity... especially if they've never been bred before.

You want baby bunnies? Find her a mate! :)

Oh so thats whats shes up to! I do plan on breeding her around September/October To a buck from http://magichatrabbitry.com/
They are suppose to be the best BEW breeders around and they are very nice, (I've talked to them a few times) very knowledgeable on the breed and color.

Where do you live? Because that seems a little late in the year to be breeding bunnies. That would get you kits born in ether October or November, just as winter sets in (in most areas anyway ;)), and your mamma rabbit may not be able to keep them warm enough. If you don't live in an area where it is really cold during that time of year then it should be fine. The best time to breed is in mid-late Spring (April-May where I am) as that would get you kits in May-June when it is not to hot or to cold.

She is a strictly indoor rabbit. She will be outside when her pen is built for the nice summer weather, but the fall and winter she is living in the house :D

Rabbits can handle the cold weather better then the heat. Summer is when you loose stock to the elements. I am way more parinoid in the summer, that is for sure.

Well I have had rabbits before, and when its really hot, they come inside and go down in the basement, where its cool. But her pen will have an indoor and out door part, so she can get out of the elements :D
