Do you need to start to be concerned about babies getting pregnant? I was thinking about 4 months is that correct??

I had purchased a 3 month old doeling that I discovered 4 months later had "accidentally" gotten bred.

Depends on the breed. The larger size dairy goats are usually bred at around 8 months and the smaller ones are usually bred at a later time. But you should always look at each individual goat and assess their health and growth. If you have a slow grower, you don't want to get them pregnant early or if there are health issues you don't want to go ahead and breed.

One measure that's sometimes used is that they should be at least 7 months old and weigh 65% of their adult weight. We have ND's though and wait until they're a year old and meet the weight requirement.

Oh no!! That is scary. The book I was reading said they didn't even hit puberty til about 4 months old. Now I am worried. My 2 1/2 month olds can still pop in & out of the fence & the buckling tries to breed them sometimes when they do & I wasn't worried because they were so young. I posted this because I wanted to find out exactly when to start worrying thinking around 4 months old. Guess I better start worrying about it now....

How did it work out with the doeling did she deliver ok?

Males are sexually viable at 7 weeks old...females at 8 weeks old.

Does it happen very often? No...but I don't take that chance....they all get separated or banded at 8 weeks old here.

Personally I would fix the fence situation so that your doelings cannot get to the buck and I would lute all of the doelings.

She delivered a single doeling with no problems; however, my Vet said being bred this young, she may never be able to get pregnant again. It worked out well for her as she went on to produce lots of kids for us. It just wasn't
an ideal situation for her to be growing and trying to feed babies at the same time.

Ack, I can imagine it wasn't a good situation. Glad everything turned out ok though.
