I agree that diarrhea is a symptom, but its not a death sentence. The vet said she is too young for it to be Coccidiosis (she is 1 week old today). My theory is she ate some chicken pellets, that messed up her system.
This afternoon, her bottom is dry and not messy, she is nursing well, normal temperature, and she is acting silly like a tiny baby should.
Scours might not be a death sentence, but CONSTIPATION is, which is why the pink stuff should NOT be on your goat meds list, I don't care what a vet says as far as that goes.
While, yes, too young for cocci, she's not too young for e.coli, salmonella...
The treatment for scours in goats, bottom line, should never be something to simply stop the scouring, but rather a treatment for the CAUSE of the scouring.
