You are saving me a lot of trouble trying to figure out my game plan for our little farm so I hope you don't mind having your model copied. :)

That is a really innovative way to have several things that meets the different needs.

 Funny how the gameplan has really changed over time for us. Every year we learn more and more. We are always looking for ways to be more efficient and also to try and help others along the way. I am convinced that the needs for every farm are unique, there isn't a one size fits all and there isn't one breed that is best etc.
There are so many things that you just don't know when you start out. I guess through the process it has helped me to be able to ask questions and hopefully help others to formulate their goals and ideas, and hopefully save them some headaches and $$$$.

One of the biggest things is understanding that you should MULTIPLY X3 - X10(at least) what you think you want! :p

We originally were going to get just a couple of sheep and probably a couple of goats to use some of the pasture. The first time I cut the 15 acre overgrown pasture I decided those numbers needed to change. :)

We will start slowly because I'm intentionally only adding structures as I fence pasture. That will be my enforced number regulator.

I just replied to your other thread for pictures, but know I have some! He is soo cute! I tried to talk my mom into getting a Mancha, but she said they were too big for her and when I get my own barn I can get one. Then I said, Mini manchas? she just walked away. I am the one who started our goats! and the picture of him meeting his family for the first time!

We had him disbudded yesterday.. he was born with his horn nubs almost through the skin! He was sedated and given a nerve block, like we had our mini-mancha done.
He did fine and was fully awake shortly after we got home. Took his bottle and all is well!
He is the longest legged baby goat I have ever seen! He was 10 1/2 pounds! That is a big dairy goat! Geesh!

We named him....

"Skeeterkiss"

My daughter made boots for him so he would not splay and slip on the hardwood floors!
