Hey everyone! I’m buying a new ram this year and have found a babydoll cross ram lamb. His dad is baby doll and mom is crossbreed (looks like maybe some Dorset in her, she’s pure white) . What I’m wondering is if I breed this ram lamb to my ewes who are not small by any means, will the lambs be “normal sized” do you think? Or since he’s got baby doll in him will they be smaller lambs. Also he was born this spring and is just about as tall as his babydoll dad fyi. Thanks in advance!

He'll grow to in between both parents. His offspring will also do the same or reach final size.

If dad was 24" and mom was 30", offspring-1 may grow to 28".

Offspring-1 bred to another 30" ewe, offspring-2 will probably grow to 30".

Offspring-1 bred to a 36" ewe, offspring-3 may grow to 32".

Or not. Who knows. You'll have to breed em and wait 2-3 years to know final height. I don't believe that he will magically shrink the offspring down to his height.
