Spent the entire day trying to finish packing but instead had to keep stopping to help DH load the truck and trailer. A job that wud have taken him 1 day 20 years ago takes us 2 days now. Still, pretty good for being in our prime. DH is much primer than I am.

DH kept saying that we had plenty of room in the trailer. Now he says he is nit sure if he had room for the final small boxes. Unfortunately, the final boxes are important stuff like the computers, etc. They MUST go on the trailer. Got 2 large styrofoam coolers packed with more frozen food. Didnt get everything but will have to buy a second freezer probably. Will also need a new fridge since I packed anither medium size cooler with the refrigeration needed vaccines and antibiotics. I packed some of the meds that I had in the fridge in a box - they didn't need refrigeration, but I keep them in the laundry room fridge. I asked DS1 to plug in the apartment size fridge that went back on the last load so I can put the meds in it. :fl Hope they fit, one drawer in the house fridge in Texas already is stuffed with vaccines and antibiotics. It is a small fridge and we need a larger one to avoid shopping every few days.

Made tuna salad for sandwiches on the road. Tomorrow I will make the sandwiches, load that cooler, and pack up my computer. Then we are off to Texas.

DD1 called DH this evening compainng that we had not told her we were leaving tomorrow. He said he had told her several times but she ony hears what she wants to hear. Then she started yelling at him about our move and she hung up on him. We were s tired we didn;t care. She cme over as I was packing DH's computer and started in on her Daddy. They were shiutng at each other. The grandkids came in to say goodbye. Then she came in and wanted to know if i ws going to come talk to her or just keep working. I said it depended on whether she planned to shout at me or not. She said she probably would shout at me so I kept working. There were several unpleasant exchanges between her and DH. Then she said she would see us at Christmas and I told her that we would be in Texas. Another big blow up! Then she started crying. 47 years old and a tantrum like a 2 year old! I know that she does not like change, and is upset about us not being here for Christmas but I was so tired that I just tuned it out. She knew that we would not be here since I had told her I was doing my shopping now for that reason! She was so upset I finally told her that it was not like we were dead! She is not happy about not having us near her. We have told her we were going and when but it is like talking to a brick wall. She just doesn't hear anything she doesn;t want to hear. :he

Anyway, we will be on the road tomorrow around 10-11 am.

I’m so sorry your DD1is taking your move so badly. She’s had 3 years to deal with it. She has watched the whole process and witnessed y’all hauling load after load to Texas. NOW she is upset because y’all are leaving? Time to put on her big girl panties and grow up.

Yall be careful on the road. ❤️

Be careful and have a safe trip. It is past time for her to grow up and have a life... not let momma and daddy be her constant fall back on plan.
YOU both need a break from "always being there"... have quieter and more peaceful prime years, without all the noise and stress and drama...

Wow, what a way for her to be right before you leave. Sheesh. Between being tired and trying to get the last stuff loaded up your response was priceless and perfect. Sad it happened though - but it does sort of say you are definitely making the choice (no final regrets) on the TX move.
You all are probably already on the road as I sip my coffee. Travel safe, breathe easy and smile - your paradise awaits.
