I have an issue with a banded whether. His scrotum shriveled up nicely and today I noticed that it looked like it wanted to come off. I got a closer look and it looks like the skin and fleshy parts have dried up but the spermatic cord is still in place. Like the sack tried to fall off but it's still being held on by the cord. I didn't want to move or pull on the sac and hurt him, so I couldn't see it very well but it looks like the cord is white healthy tissue. Should I just flush it with some diluted iodine and keep an eye on it and it will fall off on its own? Or should I treat it like an umbilical cord and tie it off and cut it? He is acting like nothing is wrong - eating, drinking, running and jumping, sitting on our laps. Here are some pics but they aren't very helpful. I couldn't get a good view of it and its even harder when trying to hold him with one hand and take a pic with the other..

Looks normal and healthy, just hasn't dropped off yet. You could use a razor blade and cut it at this point, or just wait until it drops off by itself. If flies were a big issue I would opt to cut.

Thanks :) That's what I was hoping for. I'll just keep an eye on it and let it do it's thing then. Flies don't seem to be bothering it, thank goodness

Looks good to me (well not good but normal). Just needs another few days to a week.
