Lambing seems to be doing well 🥰
That's a nice big ram from Jet. Ewenique will pop soon. So far only 1 bottle lamb 👍

The bottle ones are extra work but, often extra pleasure, too. I have taken on a 2nd. Boer mom with trips...the 2 does were bumping their brother off😣 and he was the runt. So I adopted him to feed. Now, they come to check out his bottle & yes, bump it! Some big, feisty girls! Next month he'll be their size -- look out! They still play & sleep together, he gets a little milk from mom, still (when girls aren't looking)…..mostly me.

Jet’s lamb was so strong that I let Jet make the decision on staying in the lot or out on the field. A lot of my ewes will stay in the shelters a day or two before they take their lambs out on the field.

Jet chose going out on the field. Her lamb kept up and did fine.

Jet is 50%, her sire is old Ringo, so this lamb is 75%. He could be offered as a commercial sire. If I decide to take him, that makes 3 rams.
Let’s see, Sugar has 2 ewe lambs, they are half Dorper, half Katahdin. Nora has 2 ewe lambs, they are 75%. I can keep one of each, sell one. Frimplepants has 2 red ewe lambs, at 75%, sell both. So that’s 4 to sell, so far. I have 6 registered ewes to lamb yet, I’d like to take some registered ewes.

I may try to sell some of the percentage lambs on Craigslist on the farm. This is getting to be fun.
