I’m home. Yesterday and this morning total rain is 5 inches.

My sister called me this morning to tell me there was tornadoes between me and home. Channel 2 Houston News had been on already for 2 hours. The weather lady was showing the storms, multiple tornado activity, warnings and watches. So I didn’t stay for the birthday party.

The storms were moving east, I was behind the bad weather. I took a longer more round about route just to make sure I didn’t catch up to it. I crossed the San Jancinto River west of Huntsville, the same river that floods my sister’s house. It was out of its backs, looked like an ocean on both sides of the road. Road ditches were full, flowing into sloughs, creeks, and ultimately, the river.

I called my sister and warned her. She just got new Sheetrock on the walls Friday. Tape and float supposed to be tomorrow. The river won’t reach her for possibly several days. She is not happy about that.

My road is so bad, Bennett and Peggy met me at church. I left my car and they brought me home. There is a bad washout that I think my car would have bottomed out on, not counting the deep wallowed out holes that are hiding under a couple of feet of muddy water.

I’ve got Laynes dually, it’s 4WD and I can take it to jury duty tomorrow. I’ll bring my car home when water drains off and I can see the big buffalo wallows.

Out here there is no warnings, no giant line of storms you can see from far out like I could in Texas. One minute bright and shiny, next you got 3 inch hail incoming in next 15 minutes and don't depend on weather station if you value your life.
RadarScope is a app tornado chasers use like Reed Timmer and has saved my arse after learning how it works. One time fee for basics that you and I would need, but wow I can see meso cyclones before they turn to twisters, hail size direction and list goes on. We had 2 inch hail that took a neighbors gutter out down the road, would of been his vehicle too with everyone else's, but I seen it before hand and sent them a text. I swear I need to buy a tornado siren and use it.
Look up Reed Timmer and enjoy his YouTube videos.

I totaled up the rain. From January 8 through February 11, I got ………. Drumroll…..

TWENTY TWO INCHES OF RAIN

Toss in a freeze on January 13 for 5 days and so far, WINTER has been a real jackass.

Waiting on daylight so I can go wade through the slop, feed, move ewes and lambs to front field with Sheba as their guardian today. Then go to jury duty. Need to get a gallon of milk while I’m out.

WOW! Too bad you can't save some of that for this summer.
I got me a quart jar of rainwater. In August I will do a rain dance, throwing rainwater to the 4 directions.

If @Ridgetop would be so kind to bring me some California rats, (that she generously “saved” from cruel euthanasia and promised a better life in Texas) I could sacrifice them to Mother Earth, build them a funeral pyre and sprinkle with dust and some rainwater drops while I dance around the fire chanting, Send rain oh Great Mother Earth and Sky! We gotta put this stinking’ rat fire out!

I would gladly bring you some rats and ground squirrels to sacrifice to the rain god. Just afraid that f I do they will escape in the tailer and infest my furniture or get loose on my property! UHG! Can't take that chance. How about a turtle! They are associated with water and I know a wonderful dog that will catch some for you!

This morning my mind was obviously somewhere else. I forgot Anatolians were in the yard and opened the back door. Carson shot out to go pee and I remembered. I tried to get him back in, but Sentry appeared and attacked Carson.

Carson is bigger and heavier but was no match for Sentry. Sentry was all over Carson. Carson tried to fight back, but his teeth closed on an empty spot where Sentry was and was now chomping on another piece of Carson.

Carson broke loose a few times and ran, trying to get away from Sentry. I had the back door open, calling Carson to run for the door. But he ran the wrong way.

Buford got all excited. His Hero and Mentor in all things important, like crunching turtles and armadillos, was on the attack! Buford barked and got in a few licks of his own.

Finally Carson broke free and ran for the door. I shut the door, Sentry immediately stopped growling and came to me, very calm and happy. Buford continued to bark and Sheba plainly thought they were both stupid.

I checked Carson over, only one small bite mark and not deep. I doctored it up and apologized to Carson over and over. I felt so bad.
