My two nigerian does (5 years old, in milk, open; the third is a yearling who is dryand open and only gets the occasional handful of grain for now) are on Purina Goat chow. That is what they were on at their previous home and I didn't want to upset their rumen, so I got the same to start with. I am not at that place in the bag where it would time to mix and switch over if we are going to change feeds.

So, my question is, is Purina Goat chow the best/okay/decent for them, or would they be better on Noble Goat or something else?

They also get free choice loose goat minerals (and water) and eat alfalfa and oat hay. The alfalfa is 1st cut though that they are mostly ignoring, so I got a new 2nd cut bale, and also plan to slowly start adding alfalfa pellets when they are on the stand.

Thanks a billion!

We feed ADM goat feeds, but Noble goat is also a popular choice here. You'll just want to be sure you're not feeding medicated feed to your milkers.

I feed Noble Goat and am very happy with it. Though I also add Calf Mana and black oil sunflower seeds to their feed, and they get free-choice: (Bermuda) hay, goat minerals, probiotics, and baking soda, and they have a 50 lb goat protein pail. I am not sure if it's a combination of everything, but I am really happy with the results.
