Bout killed one of my girls

She weights about 70-80 lbs. I have the Dumor about 8 hours ago. I gave her 4 ccs of iron and 4ccs ivermectin just a few minutes ago. About 2 minutes after the iron and ivermectin, she was laying on her side, tongue out, eyse rolled back. Her rumen looked like it was enlarging, I put a syringe in her rumen to let air out. I had a 60cc syringe, so I put about 1 gallon of water down her to flush her out.

Right now she is standing up, she was starting to resist the water being tubed down her. I will monitor all night.

Sounds like bloat, but what happened? What caused it?

I'm hoping someone can tell me. I'm not sure what caused it? I don't know if it was the ivermectin and Dumor, the Dumor and the Iron shot, OR the Ivermectin and iron shot.

She seems to be doing OK now.

Did you give the Ivermectin as in injection or orally? If you injected it and got it into the skin or muscle instead of the subcutaneous space between skin and muscle it is extremely painful! I've seen goats throw themselves on the ground screaming and writhing in pain only to get up a couple minutes later and go on like nothing happened. If I give Ivermectin, I give it orally.

What were you initially treating the goat for?

I was trying to treat Barber Pole worm. She's anemic, so thus the iron shot. I gave the ivermectin orally. She seems to be doing fine today. She wasn't laying on the ground flailing in pain.

My guys give some crazy reactions to shots sometimes. Some yell like you stabbed them with a knife instead of a 20g, some bite their sides, some lay flat out like "ok bury me, I'm going to be dead soon", others are fine and just walk away, some stomp and kick for an hour. It all varies.
