We are having all kinds of trouble getting our does bred. We've bred all 8 does twice over the past 9 weeks and no babies. We have both younger and older does/bucks and always put the does in with both buck (one day each on consecutive days). It's been cold here the past few days, but before that the weather was decent.

We have Californians and New Zealands.

Any advise?

Are your rabbits getting enough daylight- that seems to play a factor in fertility/interest. Are they housed outside/inside as the weather might be playing a factor in it too? Is the buck finishing his job? Are the does lifting for the buck?

We house our rabbits inside our heated garage/shop with light and just added a new buck into our rabbit area(quarantined him in our house so he wasn't getting extra light) and so far he isn't shown much interest in the doe when she is placed in his pen. We have an older buck who while very interested doesn't stiffen up and fall over so we never know if the breeding was good or not.

Good Luck :hugs:fl

How old are the bucks? Are they related to one another (the bucks)? We just bred our Mini Lops and Harlequins and it took a couple tries before the girls were ready. They were all first timers except the ML buck.

The older buck will be 2 years old in May and the new younger buck is about 13 months old. They are not related to each other, we got the younger buck as we were having problems with the older one "finishing the job". The older buck was breed to one of our does about 1 month ago and so we are waiting to see what happens next weekend. The younger buck was just bred to one of our younger(1st time doe) does and did what he was suppose to- so we will see what 30 days of so brings.
