So I may need to sell one of my bucks, due to various reasons, I really don't want to though... so I'm working on that. If I had to keep just one or use just one for breeding who would you all use/ keep? They both have awesomely great milking bloodlines, so it really comes down to form. The black buck is 10 months old and the fawn is 6 months they are almost the same size even with the age difference, the black buck has him on the weight end of things but he's a little fat and is on a diet, lol. I think the fawn buck will be taller and more slender and the black buck is going to be a big bulking monster. I'd like to hear some opinions if possible from dairy people, showing people, and just anyone familiar with Nubian goats?

And included are lots of blurry, weird, and should be censored photos. I wanted to show how long the ears are on the black buck and also their shape, he would not pose in a way that accommodated for both in one photo, and his assets are very visible in the one photo that shows his ear shape, so sorry if anyone is offended, he refused to wear underwear during the photo shoot so what can you do...

I am no expert that's for sure, so my advice is strictly from my preference, not a show standard...I like the brown one...hard to tell exactly from the pics but the hind legs look more angled, the black ones look posty? Not sure if that's the correct term. Sorry, again I am no expert, just thought I'd chime in.

One thing I look for is to make sure they are nice and straight looking from the back...not pigeon toed or splayed. I have a doe that has a bit of splay so I am looking to improve that...can't tell from your pics if they how their stance is from behind.

Do they both have a level topline? Its hard to tell if the brown one is standing on level ground, the black one looks to have nice level back/shoulders.

Both look to me have more a dual purpose type look, deep bodies rather than long rib cages...my buck is super long in the body and leaner looking but would be pretty useless as butcher animals, much more "dairy look" than your boys.

Both are nice looking boys to me though, which one do you like better?

I like both, the black buck is more tolerant of hands on things but is also always in your face which isn't always a good thing, while the brown buck is friendly and not so in your face, but he's more difficult about getting hooves trimmed and restraining by hand. The black buck is more adaptable and bold in new situations but can be a bit hot tempered, no head butting or anything but his hair goes up and he stands his ground and the brown is a bit tentative to new situations but very laid back when in the pen and never seems to get annoyed. They are actually very long bodied goats these photos are at the end of the day so they are bloated up from grazing and hay and the black one has gotten pretty fat on me, so he's being fed a little different since he needs to lose a few lb and they are in weird body positions in some photos. They are Purebred not American and from some of the best dairy/ show lines actually. Elite bucks, champion does, and record milkers in their pedigrees. I'm not real good at determining leg angles and all that stuff. Top lines I know pretty well and they are very level in that department.

Pictures can sometime be deceiving, but Woodsie is correct. In the pictures the brown buckls legs have a more correct shape.

But, the black buck has a more correct, more level rump angle.

You mention that they come good lines. What about their dams? I would go with the buck whose dam had the best udder.
