It doesn't work in cattle, horses, goats, sheep, cats, dogs, etc. But, you probably know that already.

It doesn't work in cattle, horses, goats, sheep, cats, dogs, etc. But, you probably know that already.

I didnt know that. Thats what I am saying, I dont know what the sex-linking is all about. I am assuming that it is breeding certain breeds to do certain things. No?

It works in chickens. I'm not postive how, as I'm not a genetics person but, they breed certain breeds together and female offspring are one color and the male another. That's the meaning of "sex link"-being able to easily tell them apart by certain a characteristic. I don't think it works with any mammals--None that I can think of.

I was glancing through a great book I got at the library on cattle, sheep, pig and goat breeds (with photos, that's why I got it!), and I think I remember reading there is a sheep (or maybe goat?) breed that is sex-linked. Weird!
