My barn cleaning buddy's husband came over Friday with a SUPRISE!!! That big dump trailer we used in the cleanup - it was filled with gravel!!!!
Apparently it was left over from a job & needed to be removed from the job site before the loader left Sat AM, so he came home & grabbed his trailer, loaded up & dumped it in my driveway!!!!!
Sat AM he drove his tractor over & spread it in the front part of the barn where I've had so much mud problems & out to the driveway! I'm SOO EXCITED & SO SO SO GRATEFUL for such amazing friends!!!
Had anyone ever loved a pile of gravel as much as I'm loving this pile of gravel????
AND THEN....... He said 'Got anything else ya need done as long as I'm here with the tractor?'
I asked if he felt up to getting his beautiful tractor filthy & he said that's what it's for
So he dug out this whole season's waste hay from around my hay wagon & pushed it down the pasture a ways!!!
I didn't get any befores - there was half a hay ring attached to the trees and about 2' deep in mucky manurehay. He scraped it all the way down to the soil. "Normally", when it gets bad I spend an hour or so every night for a week or two pitchforking it up & tossing it a few yards away (as far as I can throw it)
Is it wrong for a grown woman to be nearly in tears over a pile of gravel & 2 piles of poo & pee soaked waste hay?
Oh yeah.... forgot to update. The giant funnel is working great!. After the tractor work was finished yesterday morning I met up with a friend to go to a hellebore fair in NC. It rained the WHOLE time we were gone & there is only a small puddle where there used to be a small lake!
