@Baymule , not going to give them the satisfaction. They are meanspirited, manipulative & enjoy being cruel... I can't compete with them, it's just not in me.
Sometimes I wish I could. I used to be gooood at nasty little zingers. But they usually made me feel worse for having been unkind to someone than actually getting a point across or accomplishing anything productive. They aren't going to stop being 'mean girls' no matter what I do or say.

- barking, howling and that gargling scream that short-faced breeds are sooo good at.
Dad called about 8 and.. he just wanted to let me know that he could hear her bark for a while, then get quiet for a while, then bark again. Which is the same as she did all weekend.
So.. it seems that she's doing ok.
The other possibility for the barking is a bark collar OR they also make sonic bark stoppers - some of those look like birdhouses. Both work. I would be hesitant to leave a collar on while you're away though.

Yeah, the head through the panel has been worrying me. I THINK I've got a big enough piece of that small welded wire that will fit across the middle of the panel. Or maybe a couple of patched pieces.
I've looked at those sonic birdhouse things before... those REALLY work????

I don’t know for sure about the birdhouse ones, but I have used the handheld ones and know others who have and the handheld ones work. I’d guess the birdhouse ones would work - same technology. Just get one with good ratings and that you can return if it doesn’t work.

The problem with any type of shock collar (and I class sonic collars in that) is that the dog will recognize that there is no "correction" when the collar is off. I don't like shock collars anyway because what the manufacturers call "correction" is actually just pain.

The sonic thing is not a collar and doesn't require one. Which I think may be worth a try.
Shock collars in the right hands for the right reasons and used correctly do work - i.e. snake eversion training. But that's a whole 'nuther thing.

No, you are not a mean girl. What a shame that someone as nice as you are is subjected to workplace abuse by a couple of witches whose shriveled soul has not one drop of compassion for anyone. You are far too good for the likes of them.

This AM didn't go quite so well. She ran from the back door when I tried to put her out in the yard first thing this AM. We had just gotten up and I didn't want to fight while we both needed to pee, so I let her out the other door, then gave her breakfast on the back porch as usual. Later, when I called her over and said Birdie, Kennel she ran to the yard gate - where I leave to go to work. Because of the back door thing earlier, I had her leash in my hand. I called her over and put the leash on. Then we walked to the kennel. "Birdie, Kennel". She went in and sat while I took her collar off and closed the gate. Then I went to let the chickens out & she was yodeling right away.

Wire covering both cattle panels (front & back) - outdoor rug covering the wire bottom & muddy spot where the tarp leaked - game camera on - special kennel chew (which she wants but won't chew in there?) - water bucket full - raised bed (yard lounge chair) more securely set so it won't feel unsteady.... 90degrees by mid-afternoon.. Day 2 🤞

 I feel like all we've done in the past month is problem solve and train. It still feels more like I'm keeping someone else's dog for a while than like my OWN dog settling in. I need to find some bonding stuff for us to do. In the evenings, she's so tired from her shenanigans all day that she crashes on her bed until I wake her up to go to the bedroom.
