It's Jan 2, about 32° this AM. Clear and going to be about 45° today.

Januarys are always full of new hopes & dreams & promises & plans.
2023 started off with a cleaning & refresh of the barn that has made a huge difference in my ability to get chores and projects done. Adoption of Birdie and a huge, bold move to leave a 20yr career to start something new.
2024 started off with a multi-county flood, loss of a job & Birdie (and my confidence) and ended with a whole new career.
2025 will - hopefully - be a year of completing and building and growing.
Completing the list of started projects both around the farm & in the house.
Building. Fences are of course high on the list. Maybe a nicer milking area. Garden beds. .... better habits, relationships, health..
Growing. This year will be the first garden in several years. Focusing on things to can & fill the pantry. Also, hopefully, a calf along with butter & cheese. Maybe growing a small flock of meat birds. But most importantly, growing personally, spirituality & physically.

You have plans. You're seeing yourself and how to sustain. I'm loving that for you. Even if only a small garden, or only fresh milk, you'll be moving forward and coping with your self worth, providing for yourself. You've accomplished a LOT, overcome a LOT. Proud of you and you should be proud of yourself! 🥰 :hugs

Friday Jan 3.
Leaving shortly for work. There had been a lot of wind this afternoon. Apparently a front is blowing in & snow/sleet expected Sun night into Mon morning. Some sources are saying up to 4".
I have to admit that I'm a bit concerned about driving home Mon AM. Hopefully it'll be much less of an impact than they're predicting.

Eva was cantering around in the paddock this afternoon. 😂 The winds have her feeling all goosey, I guess.
I checked the fence charge when I fed her & everything is still maxing out my checker at 7. 👍

Pam & Joe will be bringing Dad's new recliner down tomorrow afternoon. I had it delivered to their house so that he could open it Christmas morning. Then a few rainy days delayed bringing it down to him.
I'm considering hiding in the house 'still sleeping' while they do this. Between Dad being dad & all the upset that happens when I go down there... and my brother in law being all bossy and short tempered while getting it inside, out of the box & put together..... 🫣
