All anyone talked about all night was 'Snow-magedden 😱'.
I honestly hadn't given it much thought other than to be sure all the animals would have food & water.
But after 12 hrs of gloom & doom, I started to get a little anxious.
I have to start calling around 4 PM to find out if I have to go in tonight. The rain/freezing rain should start around 5 PM, changing to snow around 7PM, changing to sleet around 5 AM & continue on until about 10 AM. IF we are expected to come in..... they could change their mind at any time during the night & send us home. I told my supervisor that if they make me drive 30mins in sleet they had better either keep me until daylight or send me right back home. I do not want to risk ending up in a ditch at 2am.

I got home this AM & called Dad to see what he thought. For the first time EVER he is not overreacting about a storm.
I told him that I was going to go fill the gas cans & test start the generator. I reminded him that there is a new bed in the guest room & that I want him & Isaac (his cat) to come up immediately if the power goes out, even if it's the middle of the night.... none of that shivering under a pile of quilts until morning!
I picked up a bunch of things to make meals he would like, and that can heat on the stove or in a crock pot.

Tested the generator.... no start. So I have a charger on it's battery.
I dropped Eva's new round bale while I waited to see if the charger was working (it got up halfway... I'll check back in an hour. )

I need to clean up the guest room - I had hidden a bunch of stuff in there during Thanksgiving. Plus the outdoor plants winter in there. And the AC is still in the window.
Then a quick tidy of the rest of the house in case he DOES need to come up in the middle of the night.

Hoping they'll call us off for tonight. We're just filling a warehouse right now, it's not like we're filling an order.
Whatever does or doesn't happen.... I just hope that either the power holds or the generator gets going. 🙏

Yall stay safe!

I passed a wreck after church in the “S” curve. S curve is just that, people drive it too fast and have wrecks. The car was in the creek, all the way in the creek, on its side. Down to one lane, there’s no shoulder, fire trucks stopping traffic to let vehicles through. 2 DPS, 2 county, no ambulance. No one appeared to be hurt. Road is wet from the pounding rain.

So for you to go to work tonight with icy roads is purely stupid.

I have about 10 now... one in every sweatshirt pocket , jacket, my purse, each car... everywhere...
Several in my van -- in close reach from either driver or passenger seat (LOL only two seats in there).
Various jacket pockets, purse, etc. Problem is I grab one, use it put it in my pocket and later or days later it's nowhere to be found!
