How old s the Hoegger milker? The earliest ones were sort of delicate. We had two miking mchines. The Hoegger was small and compact and we took it to shows while the other one was larger and we used it in the barn. Both were double milkers.

Happy day!! Happy feet!!!
After nearly a year of miserable feet from various protective toe work shoes I finally gave in & ordered a pair off "The Zon". The reviews were good, especially about room in the toe box. One reviewer called them steel toe socks. They were in the mailbox when I headed out to work. I tried them on right there - walked around the car, up & down the road.
Bliss!!!!
I'm waiting to see if the tradeoff between lack of support/structure v/s room to spread my toes is worth it by the end of shift.

You know how, when you change the part in your hair & your scalp hurts for a while? I've spent so much time walking around with 'toe fists' that I've been reminding myself all night to wiggle my toes & let them spread out. My feet are a little sore - but NOT the squenched, pinched, squashed, blistered & calloused sore that is normal.
All in all, a GOOD BUY!.

I have to wear boots on the farm. Tennis shoes let red bugs, or chiggers, climb up my legs and chew me up. Most boots require hands and tugging to get them off. Most boots are very expensive and should go in a locked glass case to be admired and never touched. I found a pair of steel toed work boots at Academy. Wasn’t looking for steel toes, but the boots checked all the boxes. I can use the toe of one boot at the heel of the other to get them off. At home, I use the back steps against the heel of the boot to get them off. Keeps my hands out of the mud and poop that lives eternally on my farm boots. The soles are for walking on concrete and will last forever on dirt. I want to say they were $130. I ought to go get another pair to put in the closet for that day when these are shot and no longer available. LOL

I’ve got steel toed boots - men’s dept at Walmart. A tad too bag but very usable. I use them when I’m tromping all over the ranch when it’s warm out (steel toes for snakes). Mostly I’ve got knee high slip on “rubber” / rain boots. Need to get another pair I think I have a small hole in the bottom of one.
