Got 2 inches of rain in less than 24 hours!! And they say at least that much more to come. For the most part it's been a steady rain - all the fixes that went in this last week have held well.
Got the sheep fed early before the next bunch of rain settles in, took care of getting ready for the next feeding, did a few barn chores getting rid of water in an empty stall. Got back to the house and made breakfast sandwiches and coffee.
Now it's time to actually order seeds - it's almost like ordering toys! and maybe I'll get crafty 🖍️

Always a thing🙄
Cats woke me up at 4:30ish again. I snuggled them up thinking I'd try for another hour or so - then realized my face & fingers were cold. Yep, furnace acting up again.
💩
Poked at it, babied it, fiddled with it, reset it, changed its diaper, fiddled some more & around 9 it finally ran a couple of normal cycles. Panic averted, time for everything else.
Tidied up the house in case my barn cleaning buddy needs to come in. Ran to the feed store & the bank. Tried to soothe another friend who thinks I've shunned her because I'm tired 🙄. Carried a load of trash to the dumpsters and am now getting ready to go pickup my barn buddy & jump into several hours of intense barn-decluttering & tool room creation

Somewhere in there there was 2 cups of real coffee & a bottle of Duncan's coffee-milk-flavored crap that got tossed at the dumpsters 🤢

Didn't sleep at all last night.
It wasn't one of those nights where my brain wouldn't turn off.. and it wasn't one where one thing or another is hurting so bad that I can't get comfortable... I just didn't sleep. I don't know if that's ever happened before.
I LOVE my audio books and I often listen to one of the old favorites to fall asleep. Last night I'm pretty sure I listened to chapter after chapter after chapter.... Relaxed, warm, tired... just not sleeping.

So now I'm at work trying to be chipper and alert and make strings of intelligible words - 3 cups down.. a 4th looming. Better get a good bit of water too or I'm going to have a dehydrated headache on top of the stupor.

Sun up and supposed to get to 60👍 just need to get over this 29, feel like 22 here now 🥶. Warm up because front with rain blowing in for tomorrow. Well, I have an all day job tomorrow, so 🤷. Then off until another all day job next week. Lotta home time this month.:love

I'm becoming pretty lazy with time off and weather issues making outside stuff very unattractive. 😁. Some things get done on good weather days. Warming for last half of week...hoping no rains. A few things I need to do without rain and wind! I've earned the rest and this is an annual slow time. ☺️

Yesterday's all day forecast of rain didn't materialize until night - poor sheep spent half the day in the barn until I gave up on the forecast and let them out. It rained all night and is still raining - so far for this last storm (started Saturday) we're at just under 4 inches. Need to empty our rain gauge! Supposedly this is the last of the rain. Things we prepped for have held 👍 .
Dentist appt in about an hour or so - a good way to "use" a rainy day. :D =D. After today no rain in the forecast for the next 10 days. Time to dry up a bit.

I've been thinking about planting radishes and/or beets in the low spots in the pasture that hold water, for their deep tap roots. "Some radishes can have a 6' tap root to help get the water down into the ground and not an inch of mud and then run off. Our clay can be slick and have run off with 1/4" of rain in the middle of a drought.
