My mystery fruit may be unripe wild persimmons. Or Bradford pear. Trees didn’t produce anything or bloom last year.
Moses overnighted with the flock. Spent much of it barking. We’re all sleepy today. I have another broody, haven’t seen how many eggs she’s on. Eyes on the port strike. My nearest Walmart had empty shelves, beer and toilet paper 🤷‍♀️ Hopefully the strike will be over soon. Hubbs just sent me a pic of Trump’s jet rolling into the airport he’s at. In Tx for a spot of campaigning? Perhaps he’s planning to intercede in the strike?
Edit I think there is a Union Poobah? Houston?

I've been distracted with the news from western NC and Tennessee, so not doing as much on here.

Working through candidate paperwork, travel authorizations, personality issues. I have loved my work, and it pays well, but I am SO ready to retire. Then I can play with my chickens and possible goats during the day. 😎

Last week I hung a solar light inside my second shed, where I keep my chicken stuff:

No more blocking the door open so I can see!

Funny about the TP....worked in 3 dollar generals today and all had been experiencing a run on TP  by end of week won't be bread anywhere.

The funny IS -- this is not what's on those cargo docks!!

People! :idunno:idunno:thyep, it's strange. And only day 2......:caf:lol:

People are telling you what's important to them right there. True dedication. ;)

With covid everyone home -- no school, work, etc. I can see more product use -- plus many distribution centers slack with workers, so some slow down.

But THIS???? I must be missing something....🙄🤔

Well, for me, no changes. I'm stocked for my annual "winter stop shop" time.

Better weather maybe???

How short are your days getting now??? It is VERY NOTICEABLE how much earlier it gets dark here now... and how much later the sun comes up over the trees and "where it shows up now".. compared to before...

Everyone getting along in the coop now? Hens all coming down and going back up and no problems for the "old hen/pet"?
Supposedly we are just at 11 hours of daylight... but with all the cloud cover and rain it feels like easy less.

And sadly, no better weather. Well, this afternoon was sun.... but morning was dreary and cold.

It is interesting to see how the integration is progressing. The young chicken hoard is moving about more, and I see them actually on the perches and such in the shed, and they are also making it out to the run.

They barely touch the THREE elevated/chicken only feeders. They like the feeder they got used to in the greenhouse.

But, they bully the ducks off of the FOUR duck feeders that I have in the shed!!!

So... I had kid #5 build an outdoor duck feeder for the run (the ducks are spending most of their time in the run). I forgot to tell him to put it in the run today.. the wood was a little wet, and we set it up to dry some before filling it with feed.

The old hen looks like she is doing just fine, and it looks like she is not being bullied at all, very nice!!
