I’m real happy for you, but you can keep the cold! What a change, from Beaumont, Texas, right on the Gulf of Mexico to Montana! You are tougher than I am. I’ll just keep my wimpy little self right here in East Texas. If I ever get up to Montana, you can bet it will be in the heat of summer. What DAY do you celebrate summer?
Hmm depends on the year, first day of spring here is Memorial Day and I would say either summer solstice or Independence Day for first day of summer.
Not religious in any way of the Pagan ways, but I see the winter solstice as first day of the new year and celebrate it as Jan 1st.

Some of us have to BUY our lamb. Its been a couple of years since I had any, and I love it! So I splurged.
I buy mine too. I love a lamb shank! I put mine in the crock pot with beef stock, red wine, lots of garlic and a little fresh rosemary. Oh my - I'm going on the hunt for some of those yellow tags now, lol.

Sometimes people say some things that cause me to sink deep into thought. Guess you can say that from 20 years old till now (44) I haven't really been to Beaumont and have since forgotten what it's like where I came from.
Where home was went away after the first tour in combat, returned back to it physically, but really never returned home and never will. Each tour and each return things became more disconnected, came back with this unit in this state, go to combat or do a job in this country come back to another state and after 5 plus tours and lived in multiple states you really are disconnected from what you knew.
Pick any 3rd world country on the map leave here, come back in a year or longer and see what you see when you come back.

People ask do I miss who I use to be, I don't remember that kid anymore, but would be nice to give him some advice.

Coffee is ready. Got blue jeans washing and the dishwasher going. Woke up at 12:40, couldn’t go back to sleep.

Lady at church got rammed by their ram. Knocked her down, she’s a big woman and she went down hard. Laid in the field yelling for her husband, couldn’t get up because the ram would hit her again. Neighbor heard her, came over and got her husband. She couldn’t understand why the ram could go from being calm to trying to break every bone in her body. I told her, “It’s a ram, his balls are bigger than his brain and he’s got two of them.”
