Only 12°F this morning, supposed to get to upper 30's, but I doubt the wind blowing across the snow will allow that. Going to grab overtime today since they want me to put a more prettier sun visor on the semi than the one that originally came with the $200k rig 🤨
Felt bad I clocked overtime driving into town to do this type of work, but after seeing a new hire trucker makes almost twice my wages, yeah ,,!,, that's for you I made it myself you can sit on it and spin.

A sunny 30 at sunup here....supposedly last day for night temps below 40 this week 👍👍 a week to be thankful for. It was very white out tho -- heavy frost with temp & all the moisture from Wed rains. Looked pretty but, as close to the "white stuff" as I want 😊

Feeling sorry for the cold -- plus, the entire herd coming toward me as I yelled "here, kitty, kitty" to feed that crew -- I grabbed a jacket and went out to give them their hay, even before my coffee! Warming to upper 50s, so they'll be laying around chewing cud soon.

I am now enjoying my coffee. :old

Is he in the freezer yet?
Nope. Someone pumped them full of 💩 telling them the registered Katahdin sheep made a lot of money. Colored sheep bring even more money. They bought 10 registered ewes out of Tennessee and had them shipped. They bought a ram, then a 10 month old Karakachan LGD. No telling what all that cost them. Naturally all the sheep they bought are white.
I see a 💩show coming and I’m going to stay clear of it.

Morning all. Lamb stew sounds wonderful. Found a mountain lion track about 100 feet from the garage. May explain night noisy dogs this week. No more lambs, two ewes look like birthing anytime. Spending time checking fences and getting ready for potential bottle lambs and cold weather next week.

I had not thought about how to cook those lamb pieces. Frustrated EM : thank you for the suggestion. I'll have to go buy a cheap bottle of red wine. I'm a white wine person.
OHHHH go check the recipes here - that's where I found some great lamb recipes that I actually cooked and loved.
Going to do braised lamb shanks on Sunday. SOOOOoooo yummy.

Blah, blah, blah.....

Saw an emergency flashlight was out of batteries 2 days back... and I did not immediately find replacements.

So yeah, today we are out of power.

God clearly loves the incompetent... because the boys and I had a huge hot and hardy meal at noon. The power went out at about 1:30pm.

 All good, don't need to see anyway. Now at 4:12 I had to stop office work... there is still light, but it is dim.

Over a foot of snow, heavy wet mess.

We had a friend come up and push back the trees in the road.... plow guy is swamped, duh... but will try to make a quick pass through our place.

Plow guy said "weatherman says no more snow for about a day" I said "weatherman lied, look at the sky! It is going to snow again, real soon, and if I get any more snow, you will not be able to plow this mess "

Anyway... yep..... snowing again right now!

Hmmm. No oil lamps??? 😱 Really? In Alaska???

Figured you'd be set for anything!!!!

So, sorry more snow, no power. At least food spoiling with no cold isn't an issue :hide you have wood stove, right? Sorry for your snow stranding. 🫂 keep us updated.

Looks like here

Guess I lied earlier, not 12°F outside, said 9°F on my truck this morning. Was cold enough that when I went to deal with inverter to see why it stopped charging the battery last night from genset that when I restarted the unit it didn’t come back on. No time to deal with it left it off, got home tonight, after popping cover off and turning heater on it, it came back on back to life. Hmm this happened last winter. Time to move the whole setup to a heated structure. They said the unit can handle down to -4°F, BS. Don't like the unit, my last one from Aims Corp kept the lights on no matter what and didn't need updates.
