How y'all up north, out west, can handle this cold is beyond me 😕 It's 33 with winds here and I'm a frozen mess! Just can't get warm to feel comfortable.😖 Those minus numbers at numbing.

Plus, a slip & slide on ice yesterday left a couple pulls that are sensitive on a leg today. Woohoo, those dance moves will getcha 😁

I know you've probably tried it - but some karo syrup might help the lethargy. Helped with one of mine last year.
She just crashed last night. Was not swallowing by the time I thought to try it. Thanks for the prompt though. Technically she’s alive but not reacting. Damn I hate to lose them. Going down the list, milk should have been ok, environment clean and quiet, temperature in tub hovered in the mid 60’s to upper 50’s no drafts. As countless stock keepers and Yorkshire clients of James Herriot say “These things happen”.

I hatched 7 chicks last May from a dozen eggs that went through the mail. Two days later one of them was not doing well. I tried giving it some electrolytes. I checked later and it wasn't with the broody mother, found it buried in a corner, dead. Mom knew what to do. I think the term is "failed to thrive". It's still sad, though.

I have on occasion told my husband “there’s nothing wrong with that sheep except it’s dead.” :hu

I love a good smart a$$ remark! Haw haw. Guffaw! I guess you deliver that statement with a straight face. Hahaha!
Indeed I did. I was honestly puzzled. I have encountered many people through the years who express similar opinions. We’ve all heard the “looking for a place to die” quote among others. My FIL summed it up when he said “You win some, you lose some and some days you just get rained out”. ;)

Member of the 3:30 AM club this morning. First cup of coffee down, going for another. The monthly ladies luncheon is today, I’ll take the girls with me. About 20-30 old ladies descend on our favorite Mexican restaurant and our favorite waiter, Jose. We visit, make a lot of noise and have a good time. Girls can eat all the chips, salsa and queso they want.
