4:30 wake up. Coffee is ready, wind is blowing outside. It’s 36 degrees and cold. Creeks are running, lots of water. My road was flooded, but had drained off enough that I could drive in the middle to go to church last night. Ditches are full. Wind will dry things up a little.

Body clock told me it was 3am, to check the clock 😖. Turned over & refused to get up! Slept until 6 alarm. More rains coming this morning....then sat night into sun. So over rain!! There are lakes formed everywhere in farm fields. 😳 Hope it slows or garden will be late prep, like a couple things in past. Oh well, gotta deal. Can't control this

Better get feed chores done & ready to go to work. Back & shoulders better but I know they're there & complaining. Take OTC pain meds & deal! Winter got muscles slack.

@fuzzi that dinner looks amazing!!!! I've gotten into the habit of slapping one dish of anything together. I need to start cooking like an adult again.

It's 3am again. I'm wide awake & ready to make some coffee.
I have been struggling to get good sleep for quite some time, mostly because of pain in my hips & back. I finally gave in & ordered a mattress topper. 4" of memory foam & gel 🤗. It arrived Mon & I got it out of the vacuum pack and spread it on the bed to expand. When I got home Wed AM it was time to put the clean bedding on & try it out. GAME CHANGER!!!!! The only thing that woke me up was the cats coming & going (& a late night call from work). I haven't sleep that good in years. Only difficulty is getting out of the DEEP dent I created in that thick mattress. 🤣
..... so why am I up at 3am? I guess 10am to 3am of real sleep was FINALLY enough. View attachment 115147
So glad you got some good sleep. When we bought a new mattress about 6 years ago I would sigh every night when I got into bed. We spent the extra 💰 and got a Stearns and Foster, so super firm. ❤️

I've got a stash of meat in my freezer from when Covid hit, and I squirreled away food. I'm taking them out, weekly or so, and using the slow cooker to make them delectable.

Misty and drizzly all day yesterday, actual rain this morning - just rain nothing down pour-ish and same forecast for tomorrow. Sheep are all in the barn staying warm and dry (spoiled sheep ;) ). Think it's a lot of coffee day, though I do have to take the puppy out to a training class in the afternoon.

OH and WHY isn't the Coffee thread showing up anymore on the "recent" list??? I have it set as "watch". No wonder I missed a lot.
Any ideas ????

Rain continues here, too.....more tomorrow. Every ditch and catchment I pass is brim full!! Do not need more. Bed in a few. Just took an Aleve. My right upper arm, shoulders & back are achy. All the product & shelf movements can get to ya. Right handed so, that side gets overworked 😳 back at it tomorrow, after coffee & chores.

More-oh, anything could be found there ( Dr. Moreau see what I did there?). As all that- my warning is take care of your body. Both my shoulders have impingement and the arch of my right foot is gone. (Charcot’s foot). Do not let stores overwork you, which they will shamelessly do to hold down their budgets. As an independent you may have more flexibility. I liked my job but as I age I wish I’d taken it easier.

Agree!! But most of this is more from slack couple of months, now busy. Most resets are lighter things -- but, I appreciate what you're saying & know you speak the truth!! Today was better and not heavy stuff. 👍😋
I’m glad to hear that. Ok next thing Leo- international dog of mystery breed wise was moving sheep tonight. Some were stubborn. He bounced back and forth butt up like he wanted to play. When that didn’t work he chest butted stubborn ewes. I’ve never heard of chest butting as a herding technique. He also works silently with an occasional stinkeye. He even pushed the Racka who doesn’t like any dog. He does not crouch or stalk like a Border. All his techniques work. I’m not looking at the gift horse but “he so weird”.
