We do have a report to expect 8-9" of snow here beginning early afternoon tomorrow I to Thur morn. Guess that means home Thurs thru Sun or Mon. Just hope electric stays on
. Reports say most in 14 yrs.
Picking up couple cans of gas "in case", for generator.

They actually CLOSED the clinics tomorrow!
All of us office staff are staying home.
Why? It appears that we will be having an ice storm.
Hopefully we won't lose power. Everything in the house needs electricity, even the propane heat.
I do have a little friend that I brought in from the shed...
It's not whole house capable, but it can run the refrigerator...and the coffee maker

Obscene is the windchill of -40°F blowing about 20 mph trying to hitch a grain trailer up for where I turn wrenches at fighting the landing gear frozen to the ground. Broke it free, the landing gear frozen from turning too fighting that, once that is sort of moved go move the trailer and the brakes are froze up both axles, locked. Get out there with hammer beating the drums on the brakes, rocking the rig and trailer, beat some more to unlock them. I'm sure one can imagine that it was more than the 10 minutes before frostbite kicks in, more of 2 hours and nothing is keeping you warm after the first 30 minutes.@Weldman, that's obscene!

Good morning all. Coffee brewing, blueberry cobbler flavored this time... but I've got some plain'ol Columbian as a backup.
Watching the forecast. Most recent is for up to 3" of snow starting around 9am & going until about 11pm. They say the air is dry so it is supposed to be the powdery stuff & not the clingy, icy stuff that takes down limbs & power lines.
The gen is still parked next to the house with two 5gal cans of gas. The kitchen is socked with soups & sandwich makins'.
I'm supposed to be driving to work through the worst of it.
I'll be calling the company's automated weather hotline regularly all afternoon.

Here -- not that far from you @canesisters -- saying begin 1 ish, lasting into Thur morn. Hope it's "dry" stuff, news says the wet stuff -- I'm all electric here. Have a propane heater but, tank now empty. Didn't refill since warming trend. Always kero unit & generator if either needed for this event 
oh, big winds coming to the party Thurs. Wet snow & wind = tree limbs on power lines 
Brine on main roads was happening yesterday. I'm only 1.5 miles off one but no plans to go see clearing. This morn I'm mentally reviewing where & what to preposition for my own ease to make feeding happen for several days! Yeah, the snowing part is easy -- it's the dealing after that's a problem! Heated water tubs already in place, full, just plug in. There's that "please don't lose electric!!" prayer (well water). Will fill the 100 gal tubs this morn, in case I need to dip from. With the 30 & 50 gal ones around, prob 6-700 gal there.
This is not fun. Not normal. Not wanted.

@Mini Horses my thoughts are with you. I've already been in those shoes twice this year so far. It's a helpless panicky feeling for me.
