Hubbs is sick. I’m probably going to catch it so I’m rearranging chores accordingly. I haven’t been sick (lame- yes but not sick) since ‘22. Fortunately we have plenty of hay and eats. The cold snap is almost over and the place is in easy care mode.
I hope he gets well enough to take care of you. It’s only right since he got it first. 😃

Been outside since 7:30. Had to bust ice for sheep and carry hot water from the house. Have several pens of ewes with lambs, plus the rams. Feed and hay and naturally they all want a drink. Then I worked on the small coop for the chickens I’m picking up today. It now has two heat lamps and a tarp over it, held down with everything I could find, including 2 milk jugs full of water. Tonight a low of 32, then lows rise above freezing. At least I don’t have snow.

@Alaskan I'm guessing you sent it, because HERE it is record breaking to have this much!!! Next year, please don't share -- we don't like snow. 😵‍💫😳🤣 Heck send a moose instead. Novel, at least.

Starting to melt but mid teens tonight. That'll freeze into ice. Geesh.....you know goats hate water.

Hey guys, I guess it has been a few days since I have been here. Don't worry, I've had my share of snow and cold. We've had a couple of lovely cold snaps. I run most mornings before school, and its been around 0 the last couple of weeks when running on week days. Just like everyone else, definitely ready for warmer weather and less snow here. Getting tired of starting my car a little while before I need to leave.
Been in a classroom as a student teacher, this week was a really long one. Just glad I am through it. I did start some of our fertile eggs on Tuesday. Excited to use them for learning.
Hope y'all warm up.

My chores were not as onerous as everyone else's...I brought a bucket of hot water to the coop, poured it over the tubs, fed some smashed hardboiled eggs, then smashed the ice with a frozen jug of water.

I got permission to work remotely today, so I spent about 8 hours doing tedious stuff... updating Excel spreadsheets, etc...gotta make some money.
