I'm in San Diego. Where its going to be mid 70's and then 77 on Thursday. Go back to rain, wind and cold on Friday.

Everything here is blue and sunny. Bouganvillas, Bird of Paradise, yuccas, sun, water, air smells like ocean, yachts everywhere in bay, big ships: two of which we will tour, some museums that offer senior discounts, large military helos overhead, and more.

I will need to go to Goodwill to buy a book. I want to sit in the sun and read at some point during this vacation.
WAIT!!!! Where the heck are you?!?!?!!!!! The city or outside the city?? Sitting up here in Valley Center (15 and Gopher Canyon)

I'm museumed out. We bought tickets to the Balboa Park. Below is what Balboa Park is..

Located just blocks from downtown San Diego hotels, the park has a rich history, reflected through its stunning architecture, thought-provoking exhibits and installations, and cultural events that take place throughout the year. Balboa Park fascinating history is central to the story of San Diego.

Yes, Balboa Park in San Diego is larger than Central Park in New York City.
Size comparison:
Balboa Park: Nearly 1,200 acres
Central Park: 843 acres

Balboa Park began as 1400 acres of land set aside in 1868 by San Diego civic leaders
Placed in reserve in 1835, the park's site is one of the oldest in the United States dedicated to public recreational use.
15 formal museums
9 gardens

The tremendous gorgeous stunning buildings were built in time for the 1914 Exposition. No wonder they are mind boggling. Architecture like nobody has the skill nowadays. Nor the budget.

We went to a Natural History museum - really good, Auto museum which was not worth it; Air & Space which was the best; Museum of Us - which was weird for us prime people.

Today is a USS Midway trip that will take three or so hours. Then I wanna go to the beach - I bought a used book so to have something to read. Tomorrow is a one hour boat trip around the harbor.

How far away are you, Sage?

Happy spring everyone. We’ve been sick but have turned the corner on whatever it is. Regular flu, irregular flu, something new? Got my shear date from Darian Mc Rose. Reasonably priced considering this won’t be a typical shear and just one animal. I hope to deal with his offspring myself. I’ve had to hit the reset button about spring chores. Haven’t started seedlings yet  or cleaned up the greenhouse or refreshed containers. Or worked Leo with the sheep-gather project. Right now he appears to be gathering sheep on the sofa. Moses and Caddo are happily guarding. Things are peaceful except for coughing jags and ka-whooshing sneezes that I’m pretty sure have rearranged my internal organs. I also seem to drop off to sleep unexpectedly

Oh man Balboa Park - huge and beautiful It was part of the 1917 World Exposition. That's when a lot of the buildings were done. Also - the San Diego Zoo is part of it as well. Air and Space- is good, complete with a surround theatre. Was my son's fave when he was a kid.
The Midway is great - we've done it several times -- amazing just how big those ships are!
GREAT place for tacos down there is Puesta 789 West Harbor Drive. I'm not sure is Sea Port Village is still up and running - big area on the harbor with lots of little shops.
Star of India is an old sailing ship that you can tour. Fun.
LOL you've got our summer weather this week too!
I'm about 40 miles northeast of downtown.

Dang - that sounds like the flu I had - sneezing like crazy and a cough that I just couldn't cough enough -- oh my ribs hurt from at alot. DH made me go to the dr - who of course wanted to run test after test - I only let them do the flu/covid (which is now a combined test) -- got talked into it. They wanted to do chest xrays and more I said NO -- I just want something to help stop the cough. Sigh. Came back flu - of course but then what? Just a waste as it didn't change anything.
