@Margali its been a busy time trying to clean up after the storm 😣 the hay shed was completely uncovered when we woke up yesterday, all the hay I had just purchased last Thursday was soaked all around the top and sides. Both the tarp over the cattle panels and the tarp to cover the hay were blown off. Snickers’ shelter is busted, most of the yard is still a soggy muddy mess, and we lost electricity for a few hours. It’s been a bit frustrating for me, but I understand this is just a part of owning livestock and learning how to put things together better the second or third time around. I’m grateful the flock did well through it since we don’t have a barn to bring them into, also the hay dried up pretty quickly after the sun came out and with it still being pretty windy. We’re supposed to get more rain on Saturday :hitView attachment 115712
I'm so sorry. These setbacks are frustrating but you've got a great attitude. Keep that up & you'll weather all the storms (pun intended 😉) that homesteading will toss at you.
If you've got nice weather for the next few days, you might be able to save some of the hay by busting the bales & spreading them out to dry faster.

Protein shake and bagel in hand. Big snowstorm is rolling in. It’s here just a little too late for school to get canceled today, but I think there’s a solid chance it’ll be canceled tomorrow. I have snowshoes in my car, and I think there’s a chance I’ll need them to get the three miles home after school.

Coffee almost done - well cuppa 3 - dogs out, sheep out and fed. Rain last night and this morning including hail. Things are starting to dry a little, rain predicted to start around 5-6pm.
