That is SUCH an inviting entry!Awake since 4am.I thought I wouldn't be able to work outside today, so I headed over to the farmers' market about 8:30, bought a loaf of sourdough bread, some strawberry muffins made with butter
, and some organic bratwurst.
I actually was able to putter outside without getting a headache! I cleaned and organized the front porch (not out in the sun), planted the window boxes (technically on the porch railing) and then finished planting annuals for the front steps. I made a new mixture of peat moss, compost, and soil. I hope they do well.

And since it still hasn't rained (2 weeks? 3?) I watered all the vegetables, the blueberry and elderberry bushes, too. No mowing, I think that's what overheated me.

We went "camping" in our new to us Class C motorhome. We came home the next day, giving up one night.
I knew the resort was next to I5, the freeway running north south Canada to Mexico. I didn't expect to be placed 125 yards from it. It was deafening, loud, louder and it rained all night long. Won't be going back to that one again.

Dang. But those shake down trips are worth their weight in gold. Loved when we had motorhomes - so nice to be able to take all your stuff!!! Down here the motorhome (class C then class A) were insurance on evacuation for whatever reason. Brings back memories of coast to coast trips for dog shows and herding trials. DS was just a kid and was my "road cook". So much fun. You'll find great places to go. We used to have a ginormous book with all the campgrounds in the US. Forget what it was called - but it was a lifesaver in finding places. Geeze, I wonder if it even still exists - it was print.

Long day, was in barn at 4:30 for testing... home and to auction sale with DS... did some things, and have one humdinger of a headache all of a sudden; headed to a shower and wash my cow splattered hair and bed... will try to write on journal tomorrow.

I'm a little sore after Fridays Olympic event of swinging a 16 lb sledge trying to drive pin bushings on semi in then combine with yesterdays moving (5) 250 lb 10' x 5' sheets of steel by hand to get them out of my way to start fabricating my service bed.

My dad lived in an RV, on the road, for almost 30 years. When he retired at 62 he gave up apartment living, too expensive. First he had a teardrop ? trailer, then graduated to a 19' Dodge RV. Being a mechanic as well as an engineer he kept it running mostly on his own until age crept up. When the wood sides started disintegrating he bought a 29' Ford. He lived in that until he went into hospice.
He parked it by my house when he hit 91, said it was time he lived close to family.
Parked near Heron Lake, NM.
He said he'd been to all 48 contiguous states.
What a life.

DH & I traveled a LOT in our RV. Visited all kinds of National parks, spending a few days or more while there. Wed go for a month or so at a time, several times a year for quite a while. Went to all the mini horse shows, when we were raising them.
